I'm fine yall

I know it's been a while since the last, kinda negative, rants. But I'm fine. Really. How could I not after getting Masters in TFT Set 16 :)

Things just have been really busy recently, to the point where it's hard to believe it's already March. There was just so many dinners, meet ups and work the past month.

There was also a break week where I took the opportunity to rank to Masters in TFT, completed SpiritFarer (which I'm still writing my thoughts on). TFT this set is really fun, the most fun set I had since...forever. Okay I guess Set 12 (Magic and Mayham) was pretty decent imo.

I also finalized my screenshoting program pasha that's written from scratch with no libraries. It only works in Windows for now and to be honest, I'm excited to write a Linux Wayland version once I port my personal workstation to Fedora. Hmm, maybe I should post about why I chose Fedora and also my experiences.

Oh yes, I also wrote a javscript framework for any database which I need filter and sorting on, like my Slay the Spire Ironclad Card Ranking. This one was funny; I vibe coded it at first to be reminded what terrible javascript looks like and then I did a full rewrite in a more maintainable and scalable version myself. It was actually so hard to get the AI to write in my style without reference (I'm using Opus 4.6) because as expected, it's trained on what I feel like nonsensical average javascript code with all the functional programming nonsense.

Anywho, work at school has been fine. I want to reassure anyone reading this that despite the negativity of my previous posts, I do think that the directions the schools are taking is generally correct. It's just that the execution can be a little suspect in recent times because of the chaos from things like roller coaster job market (in the past 5+ years), cost cutting, campus shifting, power dynamics between schools and now generative AI.

Personally, I'm just interested in other things now. The school has really given me a lot as a student and as faculty, and I felt that I would have already given back enough, once 2027 arrives.
